New List - Creates a new empty list and makes it active.
Open List - Opens an existing list and makes it active.
Save list as - Saves the current list under other name.
Refresh list - Reload the current list.
Arrange list - Change the order of the tasks on the list.
Large icons - Toggle between large and small icons.
Import legacy list - Here you can import lists that are created with Cobian Backup 11 (Gravity). Note that the task history won't be imported.
Queue manager - Shows a dialog with all tasks that are waiting to
be executed.
New task - Add a new task to the list. Read more about tasks here.
Edit task - Opens the selected task for editing. In the
resulting dialog you can modify every property of the task.
Clone task - Creates a copy of the selected task and adds
it to the list. This can be useful if you want to create a task with the
same files or properties of an existing task.
Delete task - Deletes the selected task from the list. If
you check "Also delete the backup files" from the confirmation dialog, all
the backup files from this task will be deleted. Warning, this is an
irreversible operation.
Toggle enabled - Toggle the Enabled status of the selected tasks.
Reset task: Cobian Reflector uses the archive bit of
the file attributes to decide if a file must be copied or not when doing a
differential or incremental backup. If you want that the next backup of a
task will be full, just select the task and select this option.
Run all tasks - Backup all the tasks in the list.
Run selected tasks- Same as above, but only the
selected tasks on the list will be backed up.
Run current group: Run all the task from the selected
group
Force full backup for all: Backup all tasks, but force a
full backup, even if the tasks are incremental or differential
Force full backup for selected: Backup the selected
tasks, but force a full backup, even if the tasks are incremental or
differential
Force full backup for group: Backup all tasks in the
selected group, but force a full backup, even if the tasks are incremental
or differential
Cancel - If a backup is currently going on, clicking on
Abort will stop the current operation. Some temporary files could be left
on your hard drive.
Pause/Continue: Pause or resume the current operation
Older backups: If the list with backups for the selected task contains more items than they can be shown, load then older backups
Newer backups: If the list with backups for the selected task contains more items than they can be shown, load then newer backups
Delete selected- Deletes the selected unparked backups from the active database. If you check "Also delete the backup files" from the confirmation dialog, all the backup files from this backup will be deleted. Warning, this is an irreversible operation.
Delete task history: Deletes all unparked backups for the selected task. If you check "Also delete the backup files" from the confirmation dialog, all the backup files from this backup will be deleted. Warning, this is an irreversible operation.
Toggle parked - Check this option to change the status of the "parked" flag of the selected backup. A parked backup cannot be deleted by the program (automatically) nor can it be deleted by the user. To delete a parked backup, uncheck the Parked flag by clicking again on this menu item.
Clear all parked flags: Clear all the "parked" flags for the selected backup.
Backup properties: Displays the properties of the selected backup set.
Cobian Reflector's engine logs all the operations into one or several log files. The user interface has also a "Log" tab which shows the user interface related activities.
Select all - marks all the text on the "Log" tab.
Copy selection - Copies the selected text into the clipboard.
Clear log tab - Clears all the text from the "Log" tab.
Print log tab - Prints the "Log" tab.
Add line manually: Add a new line (a comment or something else) to the log file.
Open log files - Opens the log files in an external text
editor.
Delete the log files - Deletes the engine's log files.
This is an irreversible operation.
Word wrap: Force large lines to break in the log tab.
Check for updates - Checks if new versions are available. This can be configured to happen automatically on the Options dialog box.
Optimize database: Delete all orphan backups from the database and shrink it to optimize the performance.
Decompressor - Starts the tool to use to decompress the
files created by the program. The program creates standard zip files and
this tool is provided for convenience.
Translator - Starts the translation tool. You can
translate the program to your language. Feel free to send your translation
to me and I will publish it in my website as a download and will include
it into the official program download. When translating, be aware that
there are 2 files you must translate : the engine file and the interface
file. It is VERY important that you try to keep
the size of the strings close to the original size in the interface file.
If the new translated string is larger that the original the user
interface could sometimes get "deformed" and will look weird.
Deleter: All file operations in Cobian Reflector are done
using the Unicode Windows API. This means that the limits for file names
and paths are nearly 32000 characters. Unfortunately, Windows Explorer can
only handle a length of 255 characters. Sometimes the program can create
paths with files names that cannot be handled by Explorer. If you need to
delete those files, using this utility is your solution.
Repair permissions: Cobian Reflector uses a set of files
to store the settings, the task history and your lists. Because the user
interface and the engine may be running as different users, and both can
(and need) to modify those files, the DB, List and Settings subdirectories
need to have special permissions to function well. This utility (which
must be run under an account with Administrative powers) will check and
repair those permissions for you.
Service and Application control: Starts a control panel from which you can install or uninstall the program's services and change the autostart status of the application.
Notes: Here you can write some notes or infor you want to remember.
